First meeting

Thank you Amber, Stephanie, Blake and Steve for coming to the first meeting! Thank you to their precious pups as well ( sorry that I can't remember all their names as well). The first meeting agenda was as follows

Introductions ( Why you are interested in this group, what you would like to get out of this group)
Dates, Times Places to meet
Dog Library
Trips, events, ( What type of trips and events would you like to participate in)
Fundraising for different groups ( have events that raise awareness for groups or causes the group would like to help out with)
Guest Speakers (who)
Pet Therapy programs ( where can pets be trained)
Service dogs ( is it better to train one yourself or get one from a preapproved group)

Next Meeting ideas

The group introduced themselves to each other and why they want to be in this kind of group. The consensus was that we all wanted to make a difference in people's lives and help each other as well. Some of the ideas for places to meet were dog parks, coffee shops with outdoor patio's, nursing homes were we could have a meeting and then visit with some residents, parks that allow dogs. Buccanner park worked out well but Steve pointed out that in the summer it would be hard as it is a very popular place for kids and parents and it's across the street from the beach. The dog library is for the group members to share books and magazines on dogs, pets, training ect. Members feel free to bring books and magazines to share. I will continue to bring signout sheets and be responsible for all books ect. We did not come up with any trips or events and that will be something more down the road. Fundraising for different groups will be down the road. guest Speakers, if you know of people that you think the group would like to hear from please let me know.
